Adam Silver, DO

Adam Silver DO, is a specialist physician, board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who combines those skills with Osteopathic and Cranial manipulation. As a California native, Dr Silver graduated from Touro University-College of Osteopathic Medicine, with his Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2005. He completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R, Physiatry) at The Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, New York University Medical Center in 2010. 

As a PM&R physician, he is trained in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses involving bones, nerves, muscles and joints of the body, managing acute injuries, chronic conditions, and sports injuries. He is expert at diagnosing both simple and complex neuromuscular diseases using Electrodiagnostic and Nerve Conduction studies. 

He uses a variety of conventional and alternative approaches to managing his patients. These include non surgical treatment approaches of non-interventional techniques including soft tissue, trigger point and joint injections (including hyaluronate viscosupplementation), as well as consulting patients on pain medications. He emphasizes looking at the whole person and not just their one symptom or condition.  

Dr Silver is an avid reader in nutrition, environmental health, and alternative medicine including acupuncture and yoga. He is actively involved at the forefront of Regenerative Medicine, particularly of Prolotherapy, which he believes to be less expensive and often as efficacious as PRP and Stem Cell therapies for musculoskeletal conditions.

He personally enjoys staying in shape, his personal nutrition, prayer and meditation and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Michael Sinel, MD

Michael Sinel MD is a nationally recognized expert in back pain and spinal disorders.He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA Department of Medicine and  lifetime board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R, Physiatry), since completing his residency at Cornell University/New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. He also studied at NYU Medical Center under John Sarno MD, becoming an expert in stress-related back pain and has obtained certifications as a yoga therapist and mindfulness-based stress reduction instructor. 

Having taught multiple workshops on Pain and the Mind-Body Connection at prestigious institutions, including the Esalen Institute, he takes great pride in using alternative methods with patients to overcome the pain and loss of mobility from spinal disorders. As an expert on spinal disorders, Dr. Sinel has authored 2 books: “Back Pain Remedies for Dummies” and “Win the Battle Against Back Pain-An Integrated Mind Body Approach”. 

He has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and many other national radio and TV programs. He has lectured nationally and authored many scientific papers. His awards include International Who’s Who in Medicine.

Alex Kaliakin, DC , QME , CCSP

Alex Kaliakin DC, is chiropractic doctor who has worked with a variety of medical and ancillary health professionals thru most of his career of over 3 decades. He has been interviewed and quoted in local print and TV news media regarding various health care topics during his career. 

Dr Kaliakin is a California and Los Angeles native. He attended California State University at Northridge and is a 1980 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College at Los Angeles, graduating with honors- Summa Cum Laude and Class Valedictorian. 

He has practiced his entire career, since 1981, in Santa Monica. He practices chiropractic using the Gonstead Technique and attends continuing education conferences in this biomechanic specialty, yearly. As a long time surfer, he was one of the first chiropractors to work on professional surfers and is long time member of The Surfers Medical Association. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), as a result. 

Dr “K” is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the State of California, for Workers Compensation injured patients. He is also active in diagnosing and treating trauma cases including “whiplash” auto injuries. 

He also has an additional consulting practice in Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound (AIMDUS), both teaching and reading patient images. 

Dr Kaliakin lives in Malibu with his wife Pearl. He enjoys surfing, camping in Baja, classic cars and spending time with his son Kris.

Sandra Parada, Margarita Vasquez, Esmeralda Reyes

Sandra Parada, Physical Therapy Aid.

“Sandy” has been a therapy aide with us since 2003. She is a certified medical assistant, certified nurse assistant, physical therapy aid, licensed massage therapist and phlebotomist. She is trained in balance therapy/vestibular rehabilitation, passive therapy including trigger point therapy/myofacial release, and active rehab. She is dedicated to her 2 children, her daughter about to begin medical school, and her son in middle school. 

Margarita Vasquez, Medical Biller.

“Maggie” has also been with us more than a decade and our insurance expert since 2006. She is the go to person for verifying patients insurances and obtaining treatment authorizations. It is her job to maximize patient coverage so they can receive care necessary for the best outcome at the most affordable out of pocket costs. Her goal is to to get insurance bills processed ASAP. Maggie is a Raiders fan and has 3 daughters who keep her busy. 

Esmeralda Reyes, Front Desk Coordinator.

“Esmy” is the one most patients speak to on the phone. Her multitasking job includes assisting new and existing patients with the multiple services we provide, in making  appointments, processing paperwork and online data, and assisting patients in their office visit. She is the go to person for communicating with other doctors offices, imaging centers, insurances, workers compensation and personal injury lawyers, disability forms, etc. She likes organizing, her church and spending time with her boyfriend, son and daughter.
